Where Does the Shuttle Go Inside The Park?

The Moab–Arches Shuttle serves just two destinations inside Arches National Park: the Windows Section and Delicate Arch Trailhead. Passengers arriving from Moab transfer to the in-park shuttle at the Arches Visitor Center.

1. The Windows Section

One of the park’s most popular areas, featuring several spectacular natural arches within a short walking distance.

From this stop, you can explore:

  • North and South Windows: Two enormous sandstone arches with impressive desert views.
  • Turret Arch: A striking rock formation with a distinctive tower.
  • Double Arch: Two massive arches sharing the same sandstone foundation.

This area is ideal for shorter, relatively easy walks and photography.

2. Delicate Arch Trailhead

The shuttle also stops at the trailhead for Utah’s most famous natural arch.

The hike to Delicate Arch is approximately three miles round trip, with a steep uphill climb and exposed sandstone sections. Allow two to three hours to complete the hike.

Important: Delicate Arch is not visible from the shuttle stop. You must hike to see the arch up close, and you’ll need to return before the final shuttle departure.

Where Doesn’t the Shuttle Go?

The shuttle does not stop at many of Arches National Park’s other famous destinations, including:

  • Park Avenue and Courthouse Towers
  • Balanced Rock
  • Delicate Arch Lower Viewpoint
  • Fiery Furnace Viewpoint
  • Sand Dune Arch and Skyline Arch
  • Devils Garden and Landscape Arch

These areas require another form of transportation, such as your own vehicle or a guided sightseeing tour.

How Often Does the Shuttle Run?

The in-park shuttle operates approximately every 15 minutes during its operating season.

The final departure from Delicate Arch Trailhead is scheduled for 4:05 PM, so plan longer hikes carefully.

Is the Shuttle Enough to Explore Arches?

The shuttle is convenient for visiting the Windows and hiking Delicate Arch, but it covers only a small portion of the park.

If you want to see Arches National Park beyond these two destinations, driving yourself or joining a comprehensive guided tour will give you access to significantly more of its spectacular scenery.
